William P. Dupre

July 13, 1935 — May 21, 2013

William ""Bill"" Dupre passed away peacefully on May 21, 2013. He was a loving husband and father. During his long executive career as CEO of Furuno Marine Electronics, Bill was a fearless leader and entrepreneur. One to never really retire, he served as a Sales Consultant in his later years to both Raytheon and Infrared, Inc, where he supported the sales of infrared camera equipment. Along with growing these companies, he, too, expanded his large circle of loyal employees, close colleagues, and life-long friends. Bill worked hard and played hard, but was best known for his ""wicked good"" sense of humor and limitless generosity. No one escaped a good prank or two. Bill was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and grew up in Washington D.C. Having played football for both the University of Tennessee and the U.S. Army, his broad shoulders carried a lot. As a lifelong Mason, he never lost his ties to the Morningstar Lodge No. 17 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. It is where, as a counselor at Camp DeWitt on Lake Winnipesaukee, he met his wife, Helen, of fifty-nine years. He is survived by his wife, Helen, 78; his three daughters: Deborah Gerber, 58, Courtney Pierce, 54, and Christina Dupre, 46; his son-in-law, Wayne Pierce, 62, and grandson, William ""Billy"" Gerber, 22; and his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Harry and Martha Baxter, and Ann Hutchins. Bill also leaves behind six nieces and nephews: Belinda, Sandy, Wanda, Danny, Douglas, and Michael. A private service for the immediate family will be held at the Stehn Family Chapels Tribute Center in Milwaukie, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Milwaukie Masonic Lodge in Milwaukie, Oregon, c/o Stehn Family Chapels, 2906 SE Harrison St., Milwaukie, Oregon, 97222, or to the charity of your choice.
