Wayne Stanton\u0026nbsp; Wimsett passed away peacefully on July 10, 2018 at 2:30 pm, at the age of 84 , surrounded by family.\u0026nbsp; Wayne was born August 29, 1933, in Scotland, Illinois, to Leroy and Thelma Wimsett.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; He graduated from Scotland High School in 1952 and enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in March 1953. He was initially assigned to Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas, where he met and married Mayre L. Hughes in June 1954.\u0026nbsp; Together they traveled the world during his 26 year Air Force career, and raised three children.\u0026nbsp; After Wayne retired from the service in 1979, they settled in Redland, Oregon.\u0026nbsp; He began a second career as a machinist for Proto Tool/Stanley Tool Company in Milwaukee, Oregon. Wayne was a star basketball player in high school, an avid sports enthusiast, devoted family man and committed member of the community.\u0026nbsp; He was presided in death by Mayre,\u0026nbsp; his wife of over 60 years and his granddaughter Carissa Graf. Wayne is survived by his daughter Connie (Darrell) Hamilton of Maryland, son Doug (Hui) Wimsett of Virginia, and granddaughter Lisa Graf and boyfriend Randy Robertson of Oregon.\u0026nbsp; Grandchildren:\u0026nbsp; John and Ashley Hamilton, Kyle Graf, and Chris Wimsett, and great-grandchildren:\u0026nbsp; John and Dakota Hamilton, and Savannah Erlanger.\u0026nbsp; A Military Service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Thursday July 19, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.\u0026nbsp; ""In all things, God is in control.
