Our mother Viola May Branlund passed away Sunday, Jan 10 at the age of 84, after a long battle with Alzheimers. She has resided at St Anthony Village for the past five years. Viola was born Jun 8, 1925 in McCutchenville, OH to the parents of Leo and Lila Homier. Prior to moving to St Anthony, Vi and her husband Gerry Branlund (who passed away in 2005 were long time residents of Milwaukie and Gladstone, being active members in St John the Baptist Catholic Church since 1967. Viola was very active at St John\u0027s where she was a member of the Alter Society and Young Ladies Institute. She was also active in Right to Life of Oregon. In addition, Viola was a very prolific oil painter. Many of her paintings are still hanging in St John\u0027s today. Viola is survived by her brother Randall Homier and sisters Carol Bolton and Margi Clark who all reside in the San Diego area. She is preceded in death by her sisters Mary and Betty. She is also survived by her eight children: Mark Branlund; Bruce Branlund; Jeff Branlund; Martha Manangan; Diane Shoun; Randy Branlund; Robert Branlund; and Paul Branlund, her 17 grand children, and 9 great grand children. Funeral Services will be held at St John the Baptist Church, 10955 SE 25th Ave, Milwaukie, OR on Friday January 15th at 12 noon, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7pm at Peak Funeral Chapel 1925 SE Scott in Milwaukie.
