Vera Mae Akre

Vera M. Akre passed away peacefully, at 3:55 in the afternoon, on July 14, 2018.\u0026nbsp; Vera was born in Washington, Nebraska on November 13, 1926.\u0026nbsp; And at the time of her death she lived in Brightwood, Oregon, surrounded by her kids, her grandkids, her great-grandkids and her friends. A memorial service will be held for Vera on Wednesday, July 25, at 11:30 am, at Peake Funeral Chapel, 1925 SE Scott St., Milwaukie, OR 97222.\u0026nbsp; View and visitation will be held had the Chapel from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.\u0026nbsp; The burial services will be held immediately after the memorial services, at Willamette National Cemetary. Vera grew up and graduated from high school in North Platte, Nebraska.\u0026nbsp; In addition to the dogs Vera had and loved over the years, three things defined Vera's life-her family, her work and her belief in God.\u0026nbsp; Now, it is Vera's belief in God that we look to as comfort that she is not gone, but has moved to a better place. Vera was kind.\u0026nbsp; She would take from herself to give to others.\u0026nbsp; During her lifetime she lost her grandparents, mother, her father, her brother, two sons, her son-in-law and many friends. As her family and friends, we have her life in our memories and our hearts.\u0026nbsp; Our prayer is that she is now in heaven in the arms of her loved ones who went before her.\u0026nbsp; We miss her, but we give her to God.
