After a tremendous 5-and-a-half-year fight against adrenal cancer, Troy Justin Hermo passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 18, 2024.
Troy was born on February 11, 1994, in Clackamas, Oregon. The eldest of three, Troy was brought up in neighboring Milwaukie with his brother Alex and sister Megan by their loving parents Brad Hermo and Debbie Coxen. Troy attended Campbell Elementary, Rowe Junior High, and graduated from Milwaukie High School in 2012. His passion for sports starting at a young age, he was a top finisher for Rowe’s 2007 state championship cross country team.
Following the steps of his father and grandfather Larry Hermo, Troy continued his education in McMinnville at Linfield College where he studied business and joined Kappa Sigma fraternity. Shortly after, Troy moved back home to his roots and became a manager for a local dispensary in Portland. There with his innate business and leadership skills, he turned the small shop into a million-dollar company.
Troy met his wife Brennah in late 2017 while working together. The two fell in love recognizing each other as one another’s soulmate and married in 2021. Together, they moved into a beautiful home in Las Vegas with their kitties Crush and Cleo.
Despite Troy’s diagnosis of late-stage adrenal cancer, he remained #HermoStrong throughout his entire fight for a cure and inspired thousands along the way. He became a well-known sports analyst for Bleacher Report and coined the “Hermo Maps.” Hosting Hermo Happy Hours and releasing daily picks on X, he built a community of over 11.7k and was honored by the sports betting community in USA Today the day after his passing.
An incredible man, husband, brother, son, friend, cook, sports bettor, and all-around human being, he will be deeply missed by his surviving family and his legacy will carry on forever.
A service will be held on April 27, 2024, at 2 pm PST in the Milwaukie High School gymnasium.
