Traci Lea (née Schroeder) Smith was born December 4th, 1968, in Portland, OR and passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2024, surrounded by love and family.
Traci spent most of her adult life working in sales with various HVAC companies, receiving numerous awards for her achievements. She was fiercely independent and always hard working. Shortly after she gave birth to her daughter, Brittney in 1994, Traci married Brittney’s father, Bradley Smith. Although their marriage was short lived, they always maintained a very positive relationship.
Traci loved soaking up the sun and gardening in her backyard. When she wasn’t out enjoying the warm weather, she was usually talking on the phone with friends or family while reruns of Criminal Minds, Law and Order, or Chicago PD/Fire played in the background. She had an affinity for Military/action flicks, craft projects, building roaring fires in the living room fireplace, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her daughter, Brittney.
The morning of her passing, Traci stated to her family in the room that,“We Got This” which was something that her daughter and son in law would say to her when she was having a hard day. She had spent her last days on this earth continuously surrounded by family in the same hospital where she gave birth to her daughter. Traci’s passing was due to complications from various health issues.
Traci is survived by her daughter, Brittney (Abid) Ali; mother, Vicci (Marty) Stermon; father, Greg (Kathy) Schroeder; siblings, Greg Schroeder, Dawn Flint, and Patrick (Rebekah) Schroeder; stepbrother, Chris Carbonari; nephews and nieces, Kyler (Whitney) Flint; Rylee Flint, Layden Flint, Abigail and Lacee Schroeder; great nephew, Sawyer Flint; Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
