Tony Michael "Mike" Dahl

April 4, 1966 — July 22, 2022

Tony Michael "Mike" Dahl passed away on Friday, July 22nd at OHSU Hospital in Portland, surrounded by his family.  He had endured a 3-year courageous battle with a rare lymphoma.

Mike was born to William and Candice in Coos Bay, Oregon on April 4, 1966. He attended schools in both North Bend and Medford, Oregon.  Graduating high school in Medford.  Mike loved sports and was a born athlete and competitor.  In his youth, his sport of choice was baseball, and he was a natural.  He achieved various trophies and awards for his baseball skills and his special fast pitch. He collected baseball cards as a hobby, which over his lifetime became a massive collection in the hundreds of thousands.

Mike enlisted in the US Navy in June of 1985 at the age of 19.  He was a Cryptologist, working with top secret messaging and the detection of potential threats.  He served at various duty stations over his 20 - year career and retired in July 2005.  After retiring from the Navy, Mike worked as a maintenance technician for an apartment community for many years.  He then went on to his final job at PSNS Naval Shipyard, where he was a delivery driver.  He truly enjoyed this job and the people that he worked with.  He sadly had to leave this position to tackle his lymphoma diagnosis.

It was during his Navy career that he met his soul mate, Sherry in January 2001.  The two of them happened to share the same last name Dahl.  It was an instant conversation piece.  The two were quickly best friends and fell hard for each other.  They married not long after in May 2001.

For 21 beautiful years, Mike and Sherry were inseparable and adventurous.  Mike liked living in different places for no more than a few years at a time.  However, after being diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2020 and achieving remission in 2021, Mike and Sherry moved to Lincoln City, Oregon.  This would be his final move as Mike loved the ocean and knew this was the place to call his forever home.  Mike could be found walking the beach and searching for agates any day that the weather would allow.  Unfortunately, Lymphoma returned in April 2022.  Mike fought with all his might until the Lymphoma took him away from us.

Mike is survived by his wife Sherry Dahl; his father, William "Bill" Dahl; mother, Candice Murphy; stepfather, Francis Murphy; brothers, Bill Dahl Jr. and Sean Murphy; sister, Gypsy Warrick; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Sunday, July 31st at Stehn Family Chapels, 2906 SE Harrison St. Milwaukie, OR.  Private interment will be at Pacific View Memorial Gardens in Lincoln City, OR.

Mike was deeply loved and enjoyed by many.  His smile was infectious and lit up a room.

Our hearts are broken, and our lives will never be the same without him.
