Timothy Jay Bertrand

Timothy Jay Bertrand died Saturday, July 24, 2021 in Portland, Oregon.



Tim was born February 14, 1951 to Raymond and Jeanne Bertrand in Portland, Oregon.  He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and Central Catholic High School.  He joined the Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam.



He met his wife of almost 50 years in September 1971 and they were married in January 1972.  After living in Tacoma, WA, Oceanside CA and Pisa, Italy during his Army career, he resettled in Milwaukie, Oregon with his wife and 3 children.  Tim worked in the construction supply industry for 30 years retiring in 2009 for health reasons.



Tim spent many weekends camping at Sand Lake, Oregon where he enjoyed riding ATV's with his children.  He was also a NASCAR fan and loved watching creature movies on the Sci-Fi Channel.



Tim had 7 grandchildren.  He loved spending time with them and they had him wrapped around their fingers. Tim was greatly loved by many - he never met anyone who wasn't his friend.



Tim is survived by his wife, Pamela Usher Bertrand; children, Brian (Jessica) of Portland, OR, Melissa of Milwaukie, OR, and Matthew (Ashley) of Longview, WA; grandchildren, Renae Bertrand (Josiah Hanson) of Houston, TX, Mickenzie Bertrand of Gresham, OR, Bailey Bertrand of Milwaukie, OR, Josiah Bertrand of Longview, WA, Jake Bertrand of Portland, OR, Abby Rosand of Longview, WA, and Tyler Bertrand of Longview, WA; sisters, Nancy Passadore and Laurie Beaudoin; and brother, Anthony Bertrand.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ken and Nick; and sister, Susan.



A Visitation will be at 1p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Portland, OR. A Cemetery Service with Military Honors will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
