Susan Jean Myers (née Keltz) of Milwaukie, Oregon was born in Los Angeles, California on July 5, 1957, to Stan & Katherine (Katy) Keltz (née McNicholas). She departed her loved ones January 6, 2024, from a broken heart having not been able to recover from the loss of her beloved soulmate, Jay Myers.
Susan spent her life helping others through her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She didn’t shy away from nursing tasks that many others could not endure. She was an avid cook, baker, and student of nutrition. She was dedicated to improving health through food. Friends and family will miss her unique and tasty meals and concoctions. Devoted to her pets, she was particularly saddened by the passing of her beloved Lucy. She leaves behind Lola (thanks to Christie) and Rocco; who have both been taken in by friends. She and Jay both shared a love of the Kentucky Derby and were blessed to have accompanied their dear friends Mark and Julie Van Buskirk to see the race in person.
Susan was an accomplished pianist and had a talent for nurturing plants. She thoroughly researched her interests and remained focused on her goal. Her smart, funny, and loving nature are dearly missed.
Susan is survived by her mother, Katy Keltz; cousin, James Wheeler & wife, Sonia of Visalia, CA; mother-in-law, Betty Myers of Milwaukie, OR; brothers-in-law, Will (Bill) Myers of Oak Grove, OR and Terry Myers of Milwaukie, OR; and dear friends, Adrienne Haas and Derek R. Pangelinan. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Stanley George Keltz; sister, Judith Ann Keltz; and her beloved soulmate, Jay Arnold Myers. Special thanks to Samantha Wiggins and Erin Kugler.
The family suggests remembrances in Susan’s name be made to an animal rescue of your choosing.
