Stephen Veras Barce

Stephen Veras Barce was born April 1st, 1949 to Tomas and Natividad Barce in Iriga City, Philippines.
On the evening of July 9th, 2016, Stephen passed away at the hospital in Clackamas, Oregon surrounded by his family and close friends. He had a long battle of illnesses with complications ending in respiratory failure. Stephen was 67 years old.
Stephen is survived by his first son, Stephen Jr. who lives in Guam; his second son, Bryan Keith; his four brothers, Rudy, Tirso, Felimon and Ernesto; and his three sisters, Cerena, Fe and Veronica.
Stephen was born and raised in Iriga City, Philippines with his seven siblings. He first came to Guam in 1972 to play in his father's band at the Naval Base Officers Club. Since then Stephen has been a bass player and singer in several Filipino bands over the last 40 years. There he met and married his first wife, Rita and had their first son, Stephen Jr.
He moved to Portland Oregon in 1976 where he later met and married his second wife, Judith and had their son, Bryan Keith. Stephen loved to entertain and be surrounded by friends and family. He and his best friend of 20 years, Kemmer Ryan loved to travel to Hawaii, Las Vegas, St. Louis and several more beautiful places.
He made a living working mostly for Textile Industry where he retired just 2 years ago. Because of his skills and knowledge with fabrics he often made the stage outfits for himself and all other band members. Stephen is well known and loved among the Filipinos, Elks and Eagle associations from the Portland, Keizer and Salem areas.
