Stanley Joseph Culkins

Stanley Joseph Culkins, at age 84, passed away on Monday January 14th, 2019. He was born on October 27th, 1934 in Williston, North Dakota.\u0026nbsp; He is the oldest of eight brothers and sisters who grew up in Longview, Washington and in his later years he was a long-time resident of Oregon City, Oregon. Stanley is survived by his oldest son Michael Culkins, daughter and son-in-law Shannon and Michael Carter Sr. as well as his grandchildren, Matthew, Cassandra, Mikey, Morgan, Katie and Madison.\u0026nbsp; Stanley was also blessed with two great grandchildren Miah and Ezekeo.\u0026nbsp; His youngest child Timothy Culkins passed away in 2017. Stanley was enlisted in the U.S. Army and also graduated from the University of Portland.\u0026nbsp; He was very proud to be an accountant and enjoyed his job of many years with David Douglas School District in which he retired as the Chief Accountant.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; He has always been a part of the Elks, Knights of Columbus and of course an active member of the Catholic Church.\u0026nbsp; Stanley also spent many years working for H\u0026amp;R Block during his retirement. Stanley loved to travel enjoying places like Greece, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Hawaii. He enjoyed walking, playing cards and dominos as well as spending time with family and friends. He also spent many mornings reading the paper and watching the History Channel. He had a very kind heart, a quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Catholic service will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Thursday January 24th at 12:30pm; a reception will follow.
