Stanley W. Belton

April 17, 1939 — June 8, 2012

Stanley Wayne Belton was born on April 17, 1939 in Colville, Washington. The first one of his siblings to be born in a hospital. Stan's parents were Luther Chester Belton and Marion Doris Buzzell. Stan spent his younger years on Happy Hill, at Ford and Hilliard (Spokane) Washington. He had a strong work ethic, opting to leave Rogers High School before graduation to become an employed, responsible young man. He helped his parents out financially. He was honorably discharged from the National Guard of Washington and the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves. Stan always took time for his immediate family, enjoying the many Sunday dinners at his parent's home. His nine brothers and sisters, many nieces, nephews and cousins all shared the ""Belton"" love, warmth and unconditional acceptance. Stan arrived in the Portland area in 1965 and found employment at Tektronix in Beaverton. He married Judith Korbel, they had a son, Christopher in 1967. The name Christopher was selected partly because Stan's oldest brother, Chris Henery passed when he was age eleven. Stan adopted his stepsons, Mark, Robin and Richard early on. He and Judith were later divorced. Stan was a wonderful, kind, caring, loving father. He had his two youngest sons on the weekends, taking them out for breakfast, strawberry waffles and a trip to the Zoo. Saturday nights were steak and all of the trimmings. Stanley married Linda P. Knudsen in May of 1979, again taking on the responsibility of four more children, now four sons and four daughters. In the next 22 years they grew as a family, children married and gave him eleven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. In 1981, Stan, Linda and daughter, Tracey moved to NE Portland and worked as Assistant Manager and Maintenance until 1984, then returning to Tektronix and then to Merix in Forest Grove. He retired in 2002, leaving many friends and co-workers, though he never forgot his years and life experiences while working. He made friends everywhere he went in life and carried the memories deep within him. Whether it was conversing across the fence or in the parking lot at Valley East, Stan had no enemies. He loved to fish, work in his shop repairing whatever he could, his home, yard work, birds, sitting on the deck reading and watching the clouds to define what shape they would form. He adored his children, grandchildren, daughter-in-laws, son-in-laws and all his ""wonderful"" family. He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Mark, Robin, Richard and Christopher; daughters, Chiara, Denise, Rhonda and Tracey; grandchildren, Zack his wife, Nikki and daughter, Avaliegh, Dylan his wife, Jillian and daughter, Adele, Ashley her husband, Mathew and daughter, Paityn, Brittany, Austin, Erick, Shelby, Brady, Alexander, Anthony and Rebecca; siblings, Marie, Delbert, Alberta, Don and Edna; mother-in-law, Louise; brother-in-law, Don; sisters-in-law, Anita and Janet; daughters-in-law, Cindy and Carmen and sons-in-law, Stephen and John. There will be a private family gathering at the Belton home in July. Rest in peace my love, our heart!!!!!
