Shirley Jean Schumann

Shirley Jean Schumann passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, at Parkview Memory Care in Portland, Oregon.
She was born July 18, 1928, to Lloyd and Corrine Franzen. She graduated from Gresham High School in 1945 and was immediately accepted into OHSU School of Nursing. She earned her title as RN and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at OHSU Medical Center. Nursing was her passion.
She went on to marry Arnold Schumann in 1968. Arnold was a Lieutenant in the Portland Fire Department. They were both very career oriented. Shirley was very involved in the Portland Fire Bureau Toy and Joy program for many years. Shirley was a wonderful woman who was always willing to help out and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Schumann. She is survived by her sister, Donna Stanton; niece, Leslie Carlough; nephews, Don Stanton and Jim Christenson; and great nieces and nephews, Jason Darden, Kathryn Carlough, Casey Carlough, Nicole Stanton and Connor Stanton.
A small ceremony was attended by family at Willamette National Cemetery.
