Sally Jane Tabor was born to Robert and Lila Tabor in Portland, Oregon, March 11, 1950. She passed away April 22, 2023 due to complications from diabetes.
Sally lived her entire life in Milwaukie, Oregon. For 45 years she worked as a CAD PCB Designer for Tektronix and Grass Valley Group. Her brother-in-law, a Tektronix Design Engineer, preferred to have Sally layout his most difficult circuit boards, as she was the best.
Sally was the family genealogist, as ancestry was one of her favorite hobbies. She had traced the family's ancestry back to the 1700's in Wales. She loved to golf and spent many Sunday afternoons golfing with friends and family. Their interpretation of the rules were somewhat modified to their abilities; "If it rims, it's in," comes to mind. Sally was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews. She accompanied them on many excellent adventures. One of her nephews wrote an autobiography in high school. He acknowledged his parents in one short paragraph, while devoting an entire page and a half to his Aunt Sally. His ode to Sally began with "My Aunt Sally is the best!"
Sally is survived by her sisters and a brother, Nancy Baur, Peggy Costanzo and Scott Tabor; nephews, Mark Baur, Brian Baur, Andrew Baur, and Ben Tabor; nieces, Lisa Mattson, Kathy Smith, and Elizabeth Hartley; great nephews, Tyler Tabor, Garrett Tabor, Sam Mattson, Peter Baur, Matthew Hartley and Mason Hartley; and great nieces, Annie Mattson and Rosemary Baur. Sally was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Elizabeth Tabor; brother, Richard Tabor; and nephews, Peter Costanzo, Robert Costanzo, and William Tabor.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be 2:30 p.m., June 24, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 2036 SE Jefferson Street, Milwaukie, Oregon 97222.
Remembrances in Sally's memory may be sent to St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or the Milwaukie Lions Club Backpack Buddies program (see additional information below).
