Sally \u0026quot;Janine\u0026quot; Borrer, 80, of Gladstone, Oregon, died July 24th after a courageous, optimistic, and peaceful struggle with polycystic disease and kidney failure. She was born in Los Angeles, California on May 25, 1937, the eldest of three children of Wilbur and Ethel Day of Burbank, California. She attended Burbank Public Schools and participated in vocal music all her life. A graduate of Biola University in 1960, she sang and taught children and adults all her life. She married Gordon L. Borror in June of 1958. They have three children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She taught voice at George Fox College from 1977-82 and at Multnomah School of the Bible during that same period. She was an active oratorio soloist and Children\u0027s Choir specialist from 1960 through the mid 1970\u0027s, as well as a lifelong vocal coach. Janine was best known for her lovely smile, great presence and her gift of encouragement to all she met. Always optimistic and cordial to all, she was a great \u0026quot;up lifter\u0026quot; everywhere she was. A service of worship and memory will be held at Mt. Park Church at 40 McNary Parkway in Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035 at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017; the outstanding organ prelude will begin at 1:30 pm played by Richard Unfried, organist at the Crystal Cathedral in Southern California for over 20 years.
