Ruth Deardorff Our beloved mother and grandmother Ruth went to be with her Lord on November 20, 2009. She was born on October 31, 1924, the 10th of 12 children of Walter and Alma Hubbard, immigrants to the Sunnyside area of Clackamas County, Oregon. She graduated from Milwaukie High School and married Bert Deardorff in 1942, joining him in his military service during WW2. They returned to Happy Valley, Oregon, where they lived until 1963, then moved to their current farm in Beavercreek, Oregon. Ruth began the lunch program for Happy Valley School and supervised it until her retirement in 1979. She also worked alongside Bert, raising Black Angus cattle which became their passion and fame. Ruth also loved flower gardening, frequently arranging floral displays for her church. Bert preceded Ruth to heaven in 2006. She is survived by her brother Vernon, sister Iva, son Dennis (Shirley), daughter Terry Mathis (Bill), three granddaughters, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is to be held at 11am on Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Lower Highland Bible Church. Arrangements are by Peake Memorial Chapel in Milwaukie, OR. A memorial fund is being established in her honor at Lower Highland Bible Church, 24353 S. Ridge Road, Beavercreek, OR. 97004."",
