Roger M. Moline

The Moline Family is heartbroken to announce the passing of their loving husband and father, Roger Melvin Moline, 78, on August 8th, at Providence Milwaukie Hospital, having spent the day with his immediate family.

Roger was born on January 14, 1936 in Isle, Minnesota to Reuben and Hazel Moline. Roger met the love of his life, Darlene Rene Tharp, when they were
in the 6th grade. After an initial meeting, Roger left Minnesota in 1958 to enlist in the US Army as a gunner.  Once Roger left the US Army he moved back to Minnesota where he found Darlene once more, and married her on May 4th 1960.

Roger and Darlene and their girls moved to Oregon in 1969.  During the next 54 years with Darlene, Roger spent his time dedicated to family and raising 5 girls. He started working for American Metal Products in 1969 and retired as part owner in 2004. Roger was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He particularly loved spending time with his grandkids.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Hazel Moline; daughter, Sherri Lynn Moline Esau; brother, Raymond Moline and sister, Delores Moline. He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Moline; daughters, Robin (Brian) Sexton of  Star, Idaho, Sheila Cannard of Milwaukie, Oregon, Roberta Moline Lueck and fiancé, Chet Cary of Salem, Oregon, Billie Hutchinson of Happy Valley, Oregon; brothers, Donald Moline and Lane Moline; grandchildren,  Michael Moline, Alexis(August) Freeman, Cody Cannard, Jory Lueck, Wyatt Hutchinson, Megan Burdine, Carlee(Kyle) Winkler, Ryan Lueck, Dani Lueck and great-grandchild Lilly Burdine.

A celebration of Rogers Life will be held at 10:00 am, Sunday August 17, 2014 at Stehn Family Chapels, 2906 SE Harrison St., Milwaukie, Oregon with military honors and a reception to follow.  The Moline Family will have a private tree dedication ceremony with their immediate family upon conclusion of the reception.
