Bob Hoover was born July 16, 1944 in Long Branch, New Jersey. He passed September 6, 2024 at the age of 80 in Milwaukie, Oregon. Bob lived all over and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer after 30 years of service in the United States Navy. Post retirement, Bob worked in real estate and was an Adult Foster Home Licensing Inspector for the Oregon Department of Human Services. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jeannette Hoover, and brother, Barry Hoover.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Hoover; daughters, Alicia Coyle-DeWeese, Janel Jones, and Robin Halvorsen; son-in-law’s, Shane DeWeese, Damion Jones, and Jason Halvorsen; grandchildren, Ryan, Drew, Kailey, Logan, Orlando, Jessica, and Jovane; great-grandchild, Jaymie; brother, William Hoover Jr. and his wife Connie Hoover; and nieces and nephews.
Bob was the rock of his family and loved them fiercely. He loved spending time with his family and fishing in Loreto, Mexico. His memory will stay in our hearts forever.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 10:00am, Funeral Mass 11:00am, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 1333 58th St. Sacramento, CA 95819. A Cemetery Service with Military Honors will follow at 12:30pm at St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center located at 6509 Fruitridge Rd. Sacramento, CA 95820. There will be a Reception at 1:30pm back at the St. Mary Church Hall.
