Richard T. Knudson

June 17, 1925 — May 25, 2015

Richard Theodore Knudson (89) passed peacefully on May 25 (Memorial Day) with his best friend and the love of his life for 35 years, Barbara, by his side. Richard and Barbara shared a wonderful life, filled with travel, good friends, and loving family.

After his family, Richard's greatest pride was his country. As a member of the Greatest Generation, he proudly served as a U.S. Marine. Richard's patriotism shined out in his support of the Young America's Foundation and visits to the Reagan Ranch. He took pride in our great nation.

Truly a self-made man, Richard owned River Bend Realty for over 30 years and continued to remain active in real estate holdings until his death. Richard was known for his dedication to family and strong work ethic. He remained an eternal worker, having mowed his lawn and repaired his roof the day before he died. He will be remembered by his devoted wife and family for his strength, stubbornness, laughter, and love.

He has joined his beloved son, Tom and daughter, Teresa in their heavenly home. He will always be missed and remembered for the hours of card games he enjoyed with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Loretta Amato (Tigard); daughter-in-law, Jeri Knudson (Milwaukie); daughters and their husbands: Linda and Neal Butler (Gladstone), Loretta and Dale Spalding (Soldotna, Alaska), and Debbie and Brooks Adcock (Mulino) and his step-son and daughter and their spouses: Bill and Alta Barnes (Milwaukie) and Susie and J.J. Morrell (Estacada). His legacy lives on through Dick's and Barbara's blended family of children, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
