Randy G. Shervey

Randy Gail Shervey was born January 24, 1950 in McMinnville, Oregon.  He was called home to heaven to join his wife on February 9, 2021 after an eleven day battle with pneumonia and a severe lung infection.  He passed in his sleep with his children, Rachelle and Ryan Shervey at his bedside.

He is survived by his children, Rachelle and Ryan Shervey; grandchildren, Ariana Shervey and Alex and Hailey Miller; and sisters, Ronda Reynolds and Linda McCullough.

Randy was very proud of his service in the Army.  He served from August 1969 to March 1971 during which time he was deployed to Korea.

His career as a Real Estate Appraiser was not only something that he enjoyed, but was something he excelled at.  He joined the NAIFA (National Assoc of Independent Fee Appraisers) and the Portland Rose City Chapter.  He held various positions in both and he eventually worked his way up the ranks true to his own style (making both friends and enemies) to become president at both a local and national level. He also took part in the Canadian Appraisal world.

In the past few years, you would have found him and his late wife, Pat Shervey, traveling around the US and Canada for meetings with this work.  He looked forward to these trips as it gave him the opportunity to create memories and have the adventures that he had always wanted to enjoy with his wife but couldn't in younger years.  He was looking forward to retirement and traveling around the world with her.

Randy had a love for classic cars and for working on cars.  With this knowledge and experience, his father allowed him to be part of his pit crew where he created many cherished and proud memories.  He recently had the restoration on his dad's '54 corvette he inherited completed which brought him so much joy.  He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course with friends and family.

He was a devoted husband, brother,father and grandfather.  When his children were younger, you could find him coaching softball/baseball teams, helping them perfect their skills, taking family vacations, or sitting around a table playing games which was a family tradition for years.

Anyone who knew Randy knew that he was strongly opinionated, anal, set in his ways, and sometimes even short.  With that said, anyone who knew him well also knew he was compassionate, respectful, understanding, and caring.

Though he struggled with communication due to medical reasons, he still had the ability to show his compassion, sincerity and love. He had an uncanny ability to bring a smile to your face.

The world has lost another beautiful soul.  Less than 12 months after losing his wife, they are now reunited.  He assured us of this reunion by choosing to exit this world at the time that matched the date of his wife's departure.



Ceremonies and visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the funeral home.  Due to Covid we are limited on attendance, please see below to RSVP for a reservation.
