Phil Frainey, 76, of Beaverton, Oregon, died Oct. 30, 2013. Phil was born on May 5, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to John I. and Beatrice M. Frainey. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of '56, and served in the U.S. Marines. As his three boys grew up, he served as Boy Scout Master for their troops. He enjoyed a long career with the Burlington Northern Railroad. An avid sports fan, especially golf, Phil was devoted to his family and his Catholic faith. ""Papa Irish"" adored his grandchildren, Colleen, Carter, Kevin, Nick and Erica. He had a marvelous sense of humor and was a friend to all he met. He enjoyed many volunteer activities, especially working with the LPGA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Tom, and his son, Bill. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann; two sons, Brian and Michael; his brother, John and sister, Beatrice Gabrish Burk; daughters-in-law Meg (Bill), Abigail (Brian) and Natalie (Michael); his grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.
