Pearl Helen Johnson, 93, a long time member of the Milwaukie community died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Milwaukie Christian Church, 5197 SE king Road , Milwaukie, Oregon with Pastor Russ Isom officiating. Private Family Entombment will follow at River View Abby Mausoleum in Portland, Oregon. Pearl was born July 9, 1917 in Lucas, South Dakota in Gregory County the oldest of nine children to the late Alva and Helen Wiedeman. She was raised and educated there having graduated from High School in 1935. Pearl was united in marriage to Arnold Ellsworth Johnson on November 14, 1937. They celebrated twenty-five year of life together and raised four children before he preceded her in death in 1962. Pearl was a busy mother and homemaker. She was an active member of the Milwaukie Christian Church for fifty-five years, participated in Service Circle, and was a part of the Women\u0027s\u0027 Fellowship Group. Pearl was a member of the Republican Women and a volunteer at the voting polls. Her family was her life. She loved to entertain her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, and traveling. She made several trips to visit family and friends. Pearl had a special friend, Brenda Larson, who she traveled with to England, Canada and Hawaii. They went East in the fall to watch the leaves turn colors. Survivors include her son and daughter in law; Robert A. and Shirley Johnson of Eagle Point, Oregon, three daughters and a son in law; Beverly Chase of Sacramento, Ca, Gail and Jim Kinsey of Sacramento and Pamela Johnson of Portland, Oregon, one brother, Dean Wiedeman of Texas Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kenneth Alm, Nicole Bishop, Amy Burton and Michael Erikson, two great grandchildren; Kaedyn and Danica Bishop.
