Payson James \u0026quot;Jim\u0026quot; Fleming 1932-2010 Payson James Fleming, 78, a resident of the Gladstone community died on December 25, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 @10:00 am at Peake Funeral Chapel, 1925 SE Scott Street, Milwaukie, Oregon with Pastor Vic Dunton officiating. Family and Friends are invited to gather for a reception in the friendship area of the chapel. Graveside Services and Vault Interment will be held Thursday @12:30 at Willamette National Cemetery, Mt. Scott Blvd, Portland, Oregon with Military Honors. Jim was born March 3, 1932 in Calais, Maine to the late Payson John and Pauline Hill Fleming. He was raised and educated in Maine. Following his education he joined the US Army where he served for three years. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mae Pursley on January 28, 1950 in Russellville, Kentucky. They raised three children and celebrated almost sixty-one years of life together. He was a devoted father and grandfather, having helped with the horses, going to motorcycle events, attending gymnastic events and sponsored Clackamas Little League, Early on Jim enjoyed working in the construction business. He then opened the Coin and Collectibles Shop that he and Mae owned and operated for thirty-three years. Jims\u0027 accomplishments included getting his pilots license and flying his own plane to Kentucky. Among his personal interests he loved to go fishing and hunting. He and Mae traveled to some fun places including Hawaii and Mexico. He was hoping to travel back to Maine to visit family and friends. He is survived by his wife Mae, two sons and a daughter in law; Michael and Christine Fleming, Patrick Fleming, daughter and son in law; Charlene and Daniel Polhamus. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Geraldine Ann Vikara."",
