Paul F. Cunningham was born January 22, 1946, in Winthrop, Massachusetts to Frank and Germaine Cunningham.
As a youth he moved with his parents and sisters to California where his father, an engineer, worked in the aerospace industry which ultimately contributed to the Lunar Landing.
In 1965, he answered the call and proudly enlisted in the US Navy Seabees. Subsequently, he served 2 tours in Vietnam which included the TET offensive. Throughout his 23-year military career he was assigned to several different duty stations around the world. He received a number of medals, awards, citations and achieved the rank of BUCS before retiring from the Navy.
In his 10 years in the civilian sector, again he received several certifications while serving as maintenance, environmental & safety officer for various hotels and government contractors.
The things Paul loved were many: fishing, boating scuba diving, surfing, woodworking, metal working, listening to the birds talking to him in the morning, and riding his Harley. He was always looking to create something beautiful. Above all he loved his FAMILY, this country and the privilege to lead and encourage his fellow Seabees in the CAN-DO spirit.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
