Paul Nathan Anders (Panders) passed away at his Milwaukie home on October 19, 2023, at the age of 54.
Paul was born on February 7, 1969, in Ashland Oregon to parents Walter and Janice Anders. He was the youngest of three children.
Even at an early age Paul was an artist, constantly drawing and doodling. It was apparent from very early on that he had a natural artistic talent and a passion for art. Others recognized this talent and friends would come to him with artistic requests. He designed album covers for friend's bands, made posters for events, and even painted a few cars.
In the early 90's Paul moved to Portland to pursue a career in art. His first creative job was working for the yellow pages where he designed print ads. He thrived at his job, and it opened the door to other jobs in graphic design and advertising. In the early 2000's Paul wanted to see what else he could do with graphic design and learned motion design. He was introduced to After Effects software and started using it as if he'd known it his whole life. He loved motion design and creating fun animations for friends. Eventually Paul left agency life and worked freelance, which he enjoyed as it allowed him more creative freedom and a better work-life balance. He never stopped painting or drawing in all his career years but considered his art a hobby until the last few years. Humble and modest, Paul never wanted to show his art in a gallery setting or certainly not sell it. He created art because he had to create art. It just came out of him. Recently he did open up to the world of showing at galleries and found a whole new community of friends.
Paul and Kimberlee met in 2006 and married in 2012. He was always the proud and supportive husband. Together Paul and Kim enjoyed traveling, visiting art galleries and museums, and collecting skulls and rescue pets. They loved to throw parties and their Halloween parties are legendary.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, Walter. He is survived by wife, Kimberlee; mother, Janice; sister, Beth, and big brother Walter, his personal hero. He has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He loved all of them and was known as "Cool Uncle Paul".
He will be remembered for so many things: his kindness and encouragement, his ridiculous sense of humor and quick wit, his epic moves on the dance floor, his incredible artistic talent, his generosity, and his sincerity.
Come celebrate Paul's life and art on Saturday, November 11th from 4pm-6pm at The High Dive 1406 SE 12th Ave. This will be an open house so stop by at your leisure, have a drink and share a memory with friends.
