Patricia was born in Wisconsin, September 1, 1935, to parents, Hildegarde Orbeck Bescup and Marion Bernard Bescup. She died of kidney failure, August 3, 2021 at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, Oregon.
She graduated from Walla Walla High School and St. Mary's Hospital Nursing School.
Pat began her four decade nursing career in a hospital in Moscow, Idaho, followed by Dr. Jamison's office in Walla Walla, WA. Following her marriage to Grant V. Mumpower, JD, she was a county health nurse, living in Fossil, Oregon, where he served as District Attorney. They moved to Seattle for her husband's career at the Federal Trade Commission, and she worked at Ballard Hospital for several years. They returned to Oregon when his parents in Carver, Oregon, required assistance. Grant went into private practice and Pat worked at Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City, from which she retired.
Pat and her husband traveled extensively in Europe, the Middle East, and Oregon. She enjoyed trips throughout the United States and Canada, cruises to Alaska and Mexico, and a river cruise on the Rhine. She made 8 quilts in retirement, and enjoyed bunco with friends for many years.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Mumpower and partner, David Falkenstein, and David Mumpower and partner, Kristin Egbert; sisters, Michele Schranz and Jacqueline Holland; grandchildren, Brendal and Daniel Ware, Paiton, Jacob, and Maxwell Mumpower; great-grandchidren, Bryn and Kaydan Ware; many much loved nieces and nephews; and beloved cousin, Jeanette Ames, in Minnesota.
Pat requested no funeral or flowers. The family will offer prayers graveside at Pleasant View Cemetery in Logan, on Springwater Road, where she will be interred with her husband's ashes, next to her mother, Hildegarde Orbeck Bescup Jacob.
