Merrell, Patricia Goldie Arnold 88 April 11, 1928 Mar. 07, 2017 Patricia Goldie Arnold Merrell died March 7, 2017 in Milwaukie. She was 88 years old. A private graveside service will be held at Clackamas Pioneer Cemetery. Patricia was born April 11, 1928 in Pendleton, to parents, Jess and Ruby Arnold. She graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1945 and attended the University of Oregon. She taught at the Hillcrest School for Girls and Dammasch State Hospital. Patricia married Charles Merrell in Camas, Wash., May 27, 1949. They spent the first years of their marriage in Minnesota and Alaska, where they enjoyed many outdoor adventures. One of her favorite memories was portaging their canoe in the Canadian wilderness while she was pregnant with their son, Newt. They lived in Anchorage, Alaska when it had only one paved street. They returned to Oregon in the early 50s. Life was full of adventures for Patricia while raising their four children and numerous German Shepherds and large orange cats (each named Mose). She and Charles designed and built two homes. Patricia spent many enjoyable hours volunteering for the local schools, Little League, Boy Scouts, and Doernbecher Children\u0027s Hospital. She was a member of Milwaukie Presbyterian Church. What began as a temporary job at Kellogg Bowl in Milwaukie ended 20 years later with her retirement. She loved coordinating bowling league activities and all the friends she made over the years. Patricia loved family, family activities, holidays, her friends, golfing, the outdoors, bowling, gardening and traveling. Patricia and Charles were divorced in 1986, but that didn\u0027t work out, so they remarried in 1990. Patricia is survived by her four children; Newt Merrell (Sindy), Pam Schuh (Mike), Becky Sands (Roger), and Dana Merrell; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband Charles; and her sister Geraldine Arnold preceded her in death."",
