Otis Crawford Quattlebaum

Otis Crawford Quattlebaum was born April 27, 1945, in Bauxite, AR and died March 19, 2025, in Portland, OR. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Shirley Barber Quattlebaum of Milwaukie, OR; sons, Jason R. Quattlebaum of Columbia, TN and Brian J. Quattlebaum of Milwaukie, OR; and grandsons, Cedar K. Quattlebaum and Riley J. Quattlebaum both of Milwaukie, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Riley and Martha May Quattlebaum of Alexander and Salem, AR; brothers, Joseph Riley Quattlebaum, Jr. of Leslie, WV and Donald David Quattlebaum of Salem, AR; and granddaughter, Rachel Ann Quattlebaum of Columbia, TN.

Otis graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1963 and Little Rock University in 1967. He later earned a Masters in Computer Science from West Coast University. He and Shirley were married in 1967. He was transferred with Burroughs/Unisys Corp to Independence, MO, then Pomona, CA and to Collierville, TN. He retired from Shelby County Schools in 2006 as Director of Data Processing.

They moved to Pine Lake near Lexington, TN and traveled frequently in their RV. After several extended trips to Oregon, they moved to Portland in 2015 to enjoy spending time with their grandsons.

Otis enjoyed singing in the LRU choir and Church Choirs wherever he attended. He recently was a member of the Lutheran Choral Association in Portland, OR. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Milwaukie.

Otis was a 53-year Mason and a Life Member of Milwaukie-Waluga Lodge No. 109, Milwaukie, OR. He was Past Worshipful Master of Collierville Masonic Lodge No. 152 in Tennessee. He was a member of Magnolia Lodge No. 60 in Little Rock, AR. Otis was a member of the Scottish Rite, Knights Templar in Tennessee, and was invested DeMolay Legion of Honor.

A private Masonic Service will be held at Stehn Family Chapels in Milwaukie, OR. Visitation will be 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, Alexander, AR; with a Graveside Service following at 1:00 pm in Forest Hills Cemetery.
