Orson Alan Weeks

November 26, 1946 — January 16, 2014

Orson "Alan" was born in Lewiston, Utah on November 26, 1946.  He was the seventh of ten children born to Orson E Weeks and Wilma Weeks.  He spent a lot of his child and teen years working for farmers within the community.

When Alan was 18 he was drafted into the Army.  One of his 3 years of service was spent in Vietnam.  He returned from Vietnam in 1967 and was stationed in Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA.  After returning home from Vietnam, we met through Alan's Sister Joan.  He asked me out on our 1st date to the drive in movie.  After the movie Alan proposed to me and I accepted.  We just knew when we met that we wanted to be together.  On April 6, 1968 we got married in Portland, OR.

In 1972 our first child was born, our son, Ron; followed in 1973 by their first daughter, Christa and in 1976 their second daughter, Julie.  Alan was not only a wonderful husband, but a devoted Dad as well.  He was not just a Dad to our three children, but took several others in as his own.  He was also a "Host Dad" to 50 exchange students from all over the world, from Countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Europe, South America and the Middle East.

Alan was very proud of his children and had 6 incredible grandchildren, 4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.  His grandchildren brought him so much joy!  They loved his stories, especially Jack In The Beanstalk.  Every time he would tell the story, he would add in a "twist", just to see if the kids were really listening.

I will miss this wonderful man!  I have almost 46 years of wonderful memories and an amazing and special love story!

Alan is survived by his wife, Teresa; son, Ron and his wife, Charelette; daughter, Christa and her husband, Dan Weiler and daughter, Julie; his 6 grandchildren, Cara, Marc, Landen, Kayla, Brenna & Elsa; seven siblings, Von Weeks, Joan Gollnick, Linda Jones, Bonnie Zamorski, Delmar Weeks, Gene Weeks and Ken Weeks and many nieces and nephews.
