Oliver was born June 4, 1924 in Tenino, Washington to Elijah and Elsie Hodge. He died Feb. 13, 2015 in Portland, OR.
He served in the US Army during World War II with the 163rd Infantry Regiment of the 41st Division. He saw combat in Dutch New Guinea and New Guinea and received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Battle Stars.
Oliver is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bernice; sons, Robert, Richard and Roger; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
