Mkc Donald Ray Venneri, Uscg, Retired

August 29, 1938 — November 21, 2017

Donald R. Venneri passed away Tuesday November 21st with family by his side in Milwaukie, Oregon at the age of 79.



Don was born and raised in Spokane, Washington to Michael and Margaret Venneri.  He was the second of four sons, George, Ross (Ted) and Frank.



He married his wife Sandra Faye Wakeley in Spokane, Washington on September 10, 1957. They had three Children, Michael Sr., Dawn and Lisa.



He was a retired US Coast Guard Chief.  He started his career in 1959 in Newport, Oregon.   He was stationed in California for several years before moving his family to Milwaukie, Oregon in 1975; where he then retired in 1979.



He was very active in his children and grandchildren's sports and hobbies including baseball, softball, soccer and motorcycle racing.



He loved his motorcycles, racing flat track for many years in the 1970's, then buying old bikes to fix them up.  He raced "Mini Indy Cars" with his son.



He is survived by his two daughters; Dawn Ekerson and husband, Tom and Lisa Genskay and husband, Mike; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Venneri; six beautiful grandchildren, Michael Venneri, Jr., Makensy Venneri, Tiffany Ekerson, Sean Ekerson, Samantha Genskay and Adam Genskay.
