Michael Alton "Mike" Oas, a long-time Milwaukie resident, passed away October 2nd in his home. Mike was born in La Grande, Oregon in 1951 to Alton "Al" and Reine Oas, joining sister Diana. He is remembered by those who loved him as a kind, funny and warm father, brother, uncle and friend. Mike's early years were spent in La Grande; his family then moved to Milwaukie, where both his parents were educators. He graduated from Rex Putnam High School, and later attended theology school in Seattle, Washington. For many years he was a pastor in Kalispell, Montana before returning to the Portland area. Mike loved sports and was a fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners, Portland Trailblazers and Oregon State Beavers. Finding a fellow fan would always lead to a lively discussion of the joys and heartaches provided by his favorite sports teams. Mike is survived by his daughters Heather and Heidi, sister Diana Alberts (George), and nephews Jeffrey and Jason. In memory of Mike, please consider a contribution to Ledding Library or Friends of Multnomah County Library."",
