Mertrice L. ""Mertz"" Demarais

September 24, 1925 — November 22, 2016

Mertrice \u0026quot;Mertz\u0026quot; Lorraine Demarais, from Vancouver, Washington at 91 years of age, joined her Savior on Tuesday November 22, 2016. She was born on September 24, 1925 to Erick and Helga Anderson of Stratcona, Minnesota. We could list her accomplishments while on this earth, but she was much more than that to all of us. Mertz was loved by many, she made it easy. She brought an undeniable joy into the lives of her family and friends through her faithfulness, kindness, accepting love, along with her wonderful outlook on life and of course her competitive flare that reared up in a good game of cards or dice with family and friends. She had unending hand gestures that showed her spunky dramatic side that brought so much laughter into our lives daily, many times until tears streamed down our faces and hers. We are incredibly grateful to be called her family and friends. Her faith in God carried her through life with an amazing grace and strength, but more than that, God gave her a heart for prayer. If you knew her, you were covered in her prayers. She would pray for the wellbeing of our hearts and souls with a fervent passion, many times to tears. Tears of her love and hope for a better life for us, one that included a good God as she would say. Her prayers reached the heart of God. And there they remain with no doubt He will answer them in His time. Mertz is survived by her children and grandchildren. Daughter, Cindy Harrell, son , Bill Harrell (Cheryle) daughter, Jill Deishl (George) and son, Jack Roller (Sandra). And her grandchildren, Dennis Snyder, Erick Harrell (Lorin), Kristyn Roller, Roxana Roller, Katie Roller, Moraina Deishl and great grandson Jayden. Thank you to the many people who loved our mother and took part in her life. You were a part of who she was, a loving, hopeful, faithful prayer warrior, full of laughter and fun. We would like to extend gratitude to her wonderful neighbors who looked out for her and were such an active part of her life. It was a blessing!"",
