Mayre Lou Wimsett passed away peacefully Saturday February 28, 2015 at around 6:30 pm, at the age of 88, under the care of hospice and surrounded by family and friends. Mayre was born February 19, 1927 to John and Esther Hughes. In Topeka, Ks. She graduated from Topeka High in 1945. After graduation she worked as a telephone switch board operator, before meeting and marrying her husband Wayne Wimsett in 1954. Together they traveled the world; as Wayne was in the United States Air Force for 26 years. Together they raised three children. After Wayne retired from the service in 1979, they settled in Redland, Oregon. She was an avid card player, enjoyed bingo and bowling. Her greatest joy in life though, came from spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Wayne Wimsett. , daughter Connie and husband Darrell Hamilton of Maryland, son Doug and wife Hui Wimsett of Virginia, and daughter Lisa Graf and boyfriend Randy Robertson of Oregon. She also had five grandchildren: John and Ashley Hamilton, Carissa and Kyle Graf, and Chris Wimsett, and three great-grandchildren: John and Dakota Hamilton, and Savannah Erlanger."",
