Maureen was born January 26th, 1938 in Portland, Oregon. Her parents were Fred and Elsie Huit. She spent her childhood years in Fresno, California; Bellingham, Washington; and Portland, Oregon.
Maureen graduated from Franklin High School in 1956 then married Scotty that August, which made her an Air Force wife until 1972. During this time she lived in Portland, Oregon; McGuire AFB in New Jersey (twice); Klamath Falls, Oregon; and Chanute AFB in Illinois. They moved to Beaver Creek, Oregon upon retirement. In 1976 her family moved to their home in Gladstone, which remained her home until her departure.
Maureen's priority in life was to be a good wife and mother. She worked a short time at a bank, just a few months into her marriage. She also filled up her time in leading Neighborhood Bible Clubs in Klamath Falls; helping dad in the local Servicemen Center in Rantoul, Illinois; serving food to the needy in Klamath Falls at the local mission; singing in the church choir; being a small group leader in Women's Bible Study Fellowship in Portland; and many other activities, including always being there to support her daughters in their many endeavors. She loved her church family and friends. She loved people.
After 60 years of marriage, Maureen went to be with the Lord, just five weeks and six days following Scotty. She left this world on April 5th, 2017, in her home with her family by her side. She leaves behind her three daughters, Kathy, Judy and Karen; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Colleen Clark. She may be dancing in heaven, but she will be greatly missed here.
