Mary Jane Gibson

Mary was born on 7/11/1933 in Astoria Oregon to Signe and Claude Holthe. She had an older brother John, who preceded her death. Mary graduated from Astoria High School with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating from high School, she married James (Bill) Gibson. Mary and Bill were life partners for 62 years. After the wedding and honeymooning in San Francisco, they moved to Idaho Falls. They returned back to Oregon where she and Bill resided in Milwaukie for most of her life. Mary and Bill had 3 sons, James, Jeffery and Michael who are all surviving. She had 8 grandchildren and and 6 great grand children. Her hobbies included, knitting, sewing, ceramics, making and collecting dolls. Mary was very much in love with her home and yard. You could always find her doing something in the house or yard. Mary died on 1/7/2014 at Sunnyside Kaiser Hospital after a long illness.Her service will be held at Peake Funeral Chapel in Milwaukie on Monday 1/13/2014 at 2pm.
