Mary ""Mickie"" Ellen Dowhaniuk
August 9, 1938 — March 3, 2014
Mary (Mickie), our loving mother passed away Monday March 3, 2014 at the age of 75, surrounded by her children.
Born in Minnesota her family moved to Vanport and then Portland. She attended High School at Immaculata Academy graduating in the class of 1956. After school she started working as a business secretary. During this time she met her future husband, Harry Dowhaniuk who preceded her in death in October of 2000. They were soon married and had four children, Beth Harding and husband, Mark, Ron Dowhaniuk and wife, Julie, Cathy Gross and husband, Raymond and Carl Dowhaniuk and wife, Dena.
She was a homemaker for several years before working full time at Pendleton Woolen Mills as a Customer Service Representative. She retired in April of 2001.
Mickie was a loving grandma to her 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mickie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Josephine and her brothers, Jim and Richard Finley. She is survived by her brother, Tim Finley along with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
A Rosary is scheduled for 6:30pm with Mass and a reception to follow on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church 2400 SE 148th Avenue Portland, Oregon.
