Marie-Luise Elizabeth Canaday

Marie-Luise Elizabeth Canaday passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2024, at the age of 76 in Milwaukie, Oregon at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Marie was born on January 26th, 1948, in Harrlach/Bayern, Germany, to Richard & Erna Wagner.
Marie worked as a Goldschläger, making gold-leafing before she married Michael A. Canaday in 1965 in Germany. Together they had 4 children, Brian, Kelly, Jason & Travis. They lived in Germany for a few years before coming back to America and settling back in Milwaukie, Oregon after living throughout the Country. Marie became a United States Citizen on January 30, 1998. She worked at Precision Cast Parts for 30 plus years before retiring. Marie was known by all who loved her as an avid knitter, crocheter and doing cross-stitch. She could often be found watching old movies while knitting a blanket. She also loved cooking and making sure everyone was fed. You didn't leave her house without at least a snack. Marie was a staunch Democrat and was proud of it. She made charitable donations to various Veterans Organizations and Breast Cancer Organizations.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard & Erna and husband Michael. She is survived by her siblings Richard, Andrea & Claudia; children Brian (Lelah), Kelly (Kenton), Jason, & Travis; grandchildren Nick, Josh, Timothy, Brittany, Tyler (Ashley) & Troy (Yanea); and great grandchildren Tyson, Cheyanne, Victoria, Landyn & Evelynn.

A Cemetery Service will be held 1:30pm, Thursday, April 25th, 2024, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A reception at her home located at 6790 SE My Street, Milwaukie Oregon, 97222 will take place the same day at 3:00pm.
