Marguerite Rathgeber

Born Marguerite Frances Venini, to Victor and Mary (Cairns) Venini in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. She left this world surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Marguerite graduated from Franklin High School with the class of 1938 and from the University of Portland with a degree in Nursing. She served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nursing Corp during WWII. She married Albert F. Rathgeber on February 8, 1947. Survivors include her children, Mary Ann Mitchael, James Rathgeber, Teresa Ellis, Patty Ryan, Robert Rathgeber, Thomas Rathgeber, Sally Scott and Tim Hansen; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; brothers, Edward and James and her sister, Mary. Marguerite was a devoted wife and mother, was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:15 a.m. Thursday, October 4th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in SE Portland, a reception will follow. Concluding cemetery service will be held at Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery.
