Marguerite Elinor Barber: Obituary The last surviving member of five children, Marguerite Elinor Barber passed away peacefully at Rose Villa on February 20 at the grand age of 102. Born in Maurice Iowa in February 1909, Marguerite completed business training in Sioux City (1929). She married Joel Barber in 1938, they moved to Portland, and over the years lived and housed friends and family in Seattle, San Francisco, Reno, and Washington D.C. She remained employed until her retirement in 1973 having worked for such firms as H.J. Heinz; Encinal Terminals; Peat, Marwick \u0026amp; Mitchell and the U.S. Government. During and after the war she was a manager of WWII supply transport. Widowed since 1971, Marguerite has been a resident at Rose Villa since 1981 and has spent her retirement volunteering. Known and respected for her common sense, generous heart and dry humor, she will be deeply missed by family and friends. She is survived by ten nieces and nephews and two step-grandchildren.
