Lula Ida (Strange) Garcia, 74, passed away December 9, 2011 at Avamere in Sherwood, OR. From complications of Alzheimer\u0027s disease. She was born December 14, 1936 in Eugene, OR to William and Charlotte May Strange. As a young girl she grew up in the Mapleton area, attended Triangle Lake School and Elmira High. On July 4, 1953 she married Ernest Garcia in Eugene, OR. They later moved to Coos Bay, OR where they raised their three children. After moving to Roseburg in 1975, Lula became a manager at Fast Stop Market until her retirement. Lula was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and especially gardening. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include daughter Suzette Curran and husband Tom of Sherwood, OR; son, Dennis Garcia and wife Christine of Trenton, TN. Five grandchildren; Angela Hastin and husband Bob, Steve Curran and wife Ayrinn all of Sherwood, OR. Blake and Kristen Garcia, Amberley Runge all of Trenton, TN. Three great-grandchildren; Breanna, Tyler and Ryan Hastin of Sherwood, OR. Sister, Eva Richardson of Eugene, OR. As well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Lula was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest, her son Albert, brothers William, Francis, Charles, and sisters Mary and Viola. Cremation has taken place at Peake Funeral Chapel, Milwaukie, OR and private services will be in spring of 2012. Memorials in Lula\u0027s honor may be made to the Alzheimer\u0027s Association."",
