Leta Louise Reid, our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Mother-In-Law, Cousin, and friend\u0026nbsp;passed away at\u0026nbsp;Providence Medical Center\u0026nbsp;in Portland, Oregon on\u0026nbsp;August 11, 2018\u0026nbsp;at the age of\u0026nbsp;82.\u0026nbsp; Leta\u0026nbsp;is predeceased by\u0026nbsp;her husband,\u0026nbsp;John Frederick Reid, her brother, Arthur Poindexter, and her sister, LaQuita Hall. Leta\u0026nbsp;was born in\u0026nbsp;Hamilton,\u0026nbsp;Montana on\u0026nbsp;August 3, 1936 to Francis and Lilly Poindexter.\u0026nbsp; She was the oldest of her four sisters, Eva, LaQuita, Sharon, and Colleen, and her brother Arthur.\u0026nbsp; Her family moved from Montana to the Oregon coast and then to Bend, Oregon.\u0026nbsp; While attending high school in Bend, Leta met her future husband, John Reid.\u0026nbsp; They were married on March 7, 1952 in Vancouver, Washington. Leta and John had four boys; Kenneth, Terry, Randy, and John.\u0026nbsp; Leta enjoyed participating in her sons' activities from Cub Scouts to high school sports to motorcycle pit crew.\u0026nbsp; Leta worked for Hirsch-Weis making water bags, Ames-Harris doing sewing work, and was cook at GG's Restaurant for many years, all while running her household. Leta\u0026nbsp;enjoyed\u0026nbsp;cooking for her family, making arts and crafts, camping, gardening, shopping, and playing Oregon Megabucks.\u0026nbsp; Christmas was always at Grandma's house.\u0026nbsp; She was most happy when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit or she was asked to babysit. Leta's life touched so many people and like ripples on the ocean, we can't see how far the ripples go.\u0026nbsp; Her very presence influenced the course of life itself and affected us all.\u0026nbsp; Leta's greatest and most profound gift is woven into her descendants.\u0026nbsp; Those who will always carry her as part of them and may continue to pass on this legacy are her great-grandchildren Rae Reid, Remy Reid, Ellis Kirkwood, Nell Reid, Olive Kirkwood, Lily Reid, and Noah Kirkwood - her grandchildren Joseph Reid, Michael Reid, Jeffrey Reid, Rebecca Kirkwood, Kyle Reid, Kristin Klein, Cody Reid, Nicholas Reid, and Gregory Reid - and her sons John Reid, Randy Reid, Terry Reid, and Kenneth Reid.
