Larry Duncan was born June 7, 1925 in Spirit Lake, Idaho. He served in the USNCB's in WWII. After his Navy Service he had a career as a civil engineer and forester for the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) spanning 30 years from 1958 to 1987.
With the BLM he was located in 5 different Oregon cities, Roseburg 1958-1962, Burns 1962-1974, Baker 1974-1978, Lakeview 1978-1984; he transferred to the Portland office in 1984 and retired from there in 1987.
Larry was a member of the Rotary Club of Clackamas for 40 years. He also loved woodworking, reading and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Friedl; son, Steven of Lebanon, OR; daughters, Susan Shallan of Sacramento, CA and Debra Bergman of Tacoma, WA; step-son, Mandy Mayr of Munich, Germany; step-daughter, Inge Panuco of Union City, CA; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his oldest son, Dean Duncan.
