Lauretta Hayden Swanson

Lauretta Hayden Swanson, 79, of Surprise, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Saturday, July 12th, 7414 SE Michael Drive, in Milwaukie at 10:30 am. A reception at the church will follow the service. Lauretta was born May 22, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to Earl Hayden and Maud Borman Hayden. She married Richard Wayne Swanson, the love of her life, on August 11, 1956 in Augusta, Georgia. Lauretta was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. While she preferred being called Retta, her grandchildren called her \u0026quot;Grandma Darling\u0026quot; due to her uncanny sense of humor and spirited personality. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, working in her yard, spending time in the sun, and early in her career had been a realtor in Portland. Survivors include her sons, Marcus, Richard, and Timothy, her daughter, Theresa Horak, her sister, Ruthie Wieber, brother Charlie Hayden and grandchildren Brett, Jessica, and Micah Swanson, Daley and Hayden Swanson, Kalli Swanson, and Rebecca, Jennifer, and Emily Horak, and great grandson Elijah Swanson.
