Laura L. Samson

Laura (Sprauer) Samson loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away unexpectedly of cancer on April 27th. She was 61 years old. She was born to the late Bernard and Cecilia Sprauer on October 27, 1951, in Salem, OR. Laurie graduated from Regis High School, Stayton, OR in 1969 and received her RN from Good Samaritan Hospital, Portland, OR in 1973. She married Edward in 1975, and they lived their whole lives in Portland. Laurie enjoyed her nursing career at Vancouver Memorial Hospital, Woodland Park Hospital and most recently at Town Center Village Retirement Community. Laurie\u0027s co-workers always praised her quality of care, expertise and kindness toward her patients. Laurie is survived by her husband Edward and their three children: David and Michael Samson of Portland and her daughter Sherry Kavanaugh of La Grande and by three grandchildren: Nat, Nic and Angelica and two great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Madison. She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara Foster and Mary Brown of Salem, Joanie Butler of Aumsville and her brother Joe Sprauer of Silverton and 4 nieces and 3 nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life Potluck on Saturday May 25, 2013 at New Harvest Church 4290 Portland Rd NE Salem, OR starting at 2:00.
