Kirk Varra died on March 19th in Gladstone, Oregon at the age of 56. Kirk is survived by his biological children, daughter Kristin Nasta and son Anthony Varra; stepchildren, Megan and Ryan Clark; mother and stepfather Elizabeth and Norman Benson; sisters Cindy Varra and Fancy Loch; grandson, Garett Varra; numerous nieces and nephews; and the many children he helped raise and who love him. His father, Jack Varra and sister, Jacqueline Arnold, predeceased him. Kirk was born on August 2nd, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to Jack Varra and Elizabeth Benson. After graduating the class of 1976 from Cleveland High School in Portland, OR he joined the Coast Guard. He was the chief engineer of the USS Intrepid stationed in Charleston, Oregon. After honorably completing his service, Kirk began a career as a commercial truck driver traveling all over the Western United States. Kirk had a warm heart and was known to be good with kids and neighbors alike. In recent years he enjoyed volunteering at his grandson\u0027s school during Chess Club. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:30 PM on Friday, April 8th at Peake Funeral Chapel at 1925 SE Scott Street in Milwaukie, Oregon with a reception to follow.
