Kayla Emiko Campos went home to be with Jesus on August 4, 2011, while surrounded by her family at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, in Portland, OR. Kayla was born in Healdsburg, CA on July 31, 1999, and lived in Temecula, CA before moving to a farm in Hubbard, OR in 2004. She had a vivid imagination, a desire to try many different activities, a love for reading, drawing & writing her own stories. Kayla often dreamt of being an author or fashion designer, traveling to Japan & New York City. Her interests included playing the flute, doing skits & spending time with friends & family. This summer Kayla enjoyed her first experience, along with her sister, in the Canby Community Theater production of "Joseph." Kayla was fascinated by the earth sciences & desired to protect the planet & all its inhabitants. Kayla is the very definition of a free spirit; determined, passionate, opinionated, hilarious & deep. Kayla will be remembered most for her love of family & friends; she poured her heart & soul into others. Kayla now lives on both in spirit & in body. She has provided the gift of life by donating vital organs to others. Kayla is survived by parents Rick & Allison Campos, her beloved sister, Maile, her grandparents, Clemente & Elena Campos of Aloha, OR, & Mae Krause of Huntington Beach, CA, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins whom she loved dearly.
