Kathleen Bridget Ann Cairns-Schaffer

Kathleen Bridget Ann Cairns-Schaffer passed away on Sunday August, 17, 2014 at the age of 63. Kathy was born in Los Angeles, CA to Catherine Espinosa in 1951. She was raised in LA and moved to Oregon with her children; Sheri and Darrin in 1973. She was an active member of her church and gifted singer. While achieving professional successes in her career at Tri-Met, her greatest joy and source of pride was her family. Kathy retired from Tri-Met and moved on to become a well-respected spiritual counselor. She enjoyed and cherished working with people and helping them discover, re-define and clarify their life path. She leaves behind her husband, John Schaffer, son, Darrin LaFleur, daughter, Sheri Karpa, daughter-in-law, Lori LaFleur, step-son, Brent Richford, grandchildren, Brody LaFleur, Kayla LaFleur, Jason Karpa and Jeremy Karpa, and sister, Cassandra Cairns. A Celebration of her life will be held at Taqueria Nueve on Monday, August 25beginning at 3:00 pm. It is an open house style gathering, so please come when you are able, stay and share stories with us as long as you wish. She will be remembered in love as a treasured wife, mother and friend."",
