Karin Louise Drury was born April 22, 1958, in Ephrata, Washington, to Leonard and Edna Erickson. She was the fifth of five children. A graduate of Parkrose High School, Karin worked at Parkrose Hardware for 18 years, until her retirement in 2015. Karin found great joy in being surrounded by her family and friends. She loved them all, and her home was always open to them. She would greet you with a smile and hug, ready to listen, give advice or just shoot the breeze. She made friends everywhere she went. Karin was passionate about her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than being Grandma. Her face would light up when she talked about her grandbabies, and she would talk about them to anyone who would listen. She loved to swim and spending summers in the pool with her grandkids was her favorite pastime. Karin taught us all so many things. She showed us what strength and perseverance look like. She gave us the gifts of love and laughter and taught us appreciation, acceptance and forgiveness. She taught us to see the beauty in life, even when it seems unbearable. Karin touched the lives of so many and all our lives are so much greater for having felt her love. Life will not be the same without her, but her memory will inspire us to live our lives fully, in joy and love. She will be sorely missed. Karin passed away on October 14, 2017. She is survived by her husband, James, her daughters, Kristina and Rachel, her stepchildren, Denise and Jimmy, her brothers, Lenny and Mark, her sisters, Julie, Maiya, Kazumi and Sandra, her grandchildren, Ellis, Lily and Jayde, and the many, many people who loved her and cherished her friendship."",
