Karen Sue Walsh (Falkenstein) passed away April 3, 2024, after a brief, but courageously fought battle with cancer.
Karen was born December 24th, 1956, in Milwaukie, OR to Eugene and Patricia Falkenstein. She was joined a couple years later by her sister Linda and grew up in the Milwaukie area. After graduating from Milwaukie High School in 1973, she began her career at the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. She would spend thirty plus years there, followed by a nine-year career with the Oregon Wine Board and several years as a local real estate agent. She was incredibly talented when it came to business, as was evident with the level of success she had in each of her careers.
Karen loved traveling and saw many parts of the world. Her favorite travel companion was Dan, but she loved when friends joined on their adventures as well. Her friend circles were a huge part of Karen's life, she enjoyed each friendship and valued the time she spent with everyone. When Karen wasn't traveling, you could find her enjoying her beach house while reading a book (she always had such great recommendations) or working on her quilts, which always turned out amazing.
While she left us far too soon, her impact on everyone's lives will be felt forever. She was an amazing person who knew how to connect with everyone and truly made each person feel special. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 46 years Daniel, daughters Kelsey (Andrew) Skinner and Kirsten (Tyler) Creek, grandchildren Bailey, Turner, Jarrett & Ashlyn, and many families and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held, with information available soon.
